Il cd di debutto da solista per la cantautrice californiana Sophia Knapp si intitola "Into The Waves".Soffici atmosfere create da suoni classici(piano e chitarra acustica) e da una voce cristallina,cosa valida in particolare per la traccia di chiusura "In Paper".Ma non mancano momenti piu' energici tra le 10 tracce dell'album che vi consiglio di ascoltare,specie per i duetti con il suo mentore,il cantautore americano Bill Callahan.

E' appena uscito "Holy Weather",il secondo album della band indie-rock sudafricana Civil Twilight.Finora noti per alcune apparizioni nelle soundtracks di alcuni telefilm statunitensi,i tre provano ad acquisire nuovi fan col singolo "Fire Escape",dalla melodia orecchiabile e dal ritmo ballabile.Un buon pezzo di cui mi piace in particolare il bridge dopo il secondo ritornello in cui il frontman Andrew McKellar si esibisce in un falsetto degno di gruppi ben piu' popolari.

Dopo il buon successo del disco d'esordio "Light Me Up" del 2010 ,la band newyorkese alternative rock The Pretty Reckless sta preparando il secondo album ma intanto c'è una bella anteprima con l'Ep "Hit Me Like A Man" composto da due tracce live già edite e tre inediti.Qui guardiamo il video di "My Medicine",un pezzo rock piuttosto semplice che si regge su pochi accordi e sulla voce  sensuale di Taylor Momsen.

"Shadow Days" è il primo singolo estratto dal quinto album "Born And Raised" del 34enne cantautore americano John Mayer.Per lui tanti dischi di platino negli States e in Australia mentre nel resto del mondo non ha mai sfondato.Non conosco la sua discografia passata ma questa miscela di blues e soul,con la sua voce a tessere delicate trame,non puo' non invogliarmi a riscoprirla.
